This guide shows you how to Increase the mailbox size for Exchange 2010 for individual users, this guide will also work if you are trying to increase the mailbox size on Small Business Server 2011 (SBS 2011).

 

 

  1. Open “Exchange Management Console “
  2. Expand “Recipient Configuration”
  3. Select Mailbox
  4. Right click the users Mailbox and select “properties”
  5. Select the “Mailbox Settings” tab
  6. Double click on “Storage Quotas”
  7. Adjust to the required size, click ok on both boxes.

After closing the boxes I noticed that users were still receiving warning messages about being over their mailbox sizes “Your mailbox is near the maximum storage limit”, to over come this issue your can restart the Exchange Information Store or wait 20 minutes for cache to update.
